Question
Can I use Verify API with any number in the world?
Applies To
Answer
Verify API works with both fixed or landline and mobile numbers in all countries around the world, excluding our list of high-risk countries, for which the service is unavailable. This is a part of our proactive measures to restrict certain countries where we have seen our customers being used as middleman for conducting illicit activities.
When you try to verify numbers which belongs to the high-risk countries, the verification request will be rejected/blocked, and no messages or calls will be made.
You can see all rejected verifications in your Vonage API account dashboard by going to Logs > Verify Logs > Verify V1 / Verify V2.
Exceptions
Verify API V1 (Legacy)
Vonage Long Virtual Numbers (LVN), US Premium, VoIP, and Toll-free numbers will also be blocked along with the high-risk countries.
Verify API V2
Vonage Long Virtual Numbers (LVN) will also be blocked along with the high-risk countries.
