How to purchase a number for your Virtual Agent?

Question

To purchase a number for your Virtual Agent you need to have a Vonage API Account. Once you have created an account, you are able to purchase one or more phone numbers on the dashboard.
Navigate to the "Buy Numbers" section, where you'll find the following columns:

Country: Select the country code for the number you wish to purchase
Feature: Choose the features your number should support, such as SMS, Voice and MMS Type
Type: Select from available phone number types and caller identification methods, including Mobile, Short code, Landline, Toll-free and Verified Caller ID
Number: Specify if your desired number should include a certain set of digits
Click on "Search" to see a list of available numbers based on your criteria
To purchase a number, click on "Buy" in the right column of each row.

The numbers you purchased will show in the studio under "Phone Settings" or once you click publish on the top right - please link your agent with a phone number from the studio application ONLY.

This Type should be ticked in the case of a WhatsApp Virtual Agent
