What currencies can I use for payments if I am a Prepaid customer?
Starting from June 18th 2025 all new Vonage Prepaid customers can choose to make payments in EUR or USD. You can choose your preferred currency during the signup process.
This currency will be permanently tied to your main API key and all future subkeys and will determine both your billing currency, as well as the Dashboard experience for the account. To choose other currencies, you will need to create a new account. Your invoices, low balance notifications, logs and prices for SMS and voice minutes will be displayed in your chosen currency.
Payment methods
Customers who selected EUR payments can top up their accounts using Credit Card, PayPal or Bank Transfer.
Currently only US issued credit cards, Paypal and Bank Transfer method can be used for USD top up.
Can I change my currency?
Changing currencies after the account creation is currently not supported. If you are an existing EUR Prepaid customer and wish to switch your currency to USD please create a new Vonage account.
If you require a currency change but cannot create a new account, please contact us to request a currency change (this is not guaranteed and subject for review/approval).
Transitioning Prepaid Customers to Postpaid
The launch of Prepaid USD creates a shift for customers who choose to move from Prepaid to Postpaid accounts, introducing new currency combinations for the Postpaid accounts. Over time, additional Prepaid currencies will be introduced, expanding these options.
Long-Term Vision: Multi-Currency Support
Multiple currencies will be available to both Prepaid and Postpaid customers over time as well as the possibility to transition between currencies.
