Objective
This article outlines the steps to change your WhatsApp display name. The WhatsApp Business display name is your business name that customers see on your WhatsApp Business profile. When you add a new phone number to your WhatsApp Business account in the Meta Business Manager, you assign a display name to it.

Before submitting your request review Meta’s Display Name Guidelines, and ensure your desired name adheres to these guidelines

Process for Standard Businesses
Upon submission of the WhatsApp Support Form, the Vonage WhatsApp Team will request the new display name for you. Once the new display name is requested, Meta will review the display name and either approve or reject it. This can take up to 24-hours.
- If Meta approves the display name, the Vonage WhatsApp Team will update the display name in the WABA for you
- If Meta rejects the display name, you can request an appeal (Please see below)
Appeals for Standard Businesses
If, for any reason, the submitted display name is rejected, the WhatsApp number in question will retain its current display name.
If you feel that the rejection of the proposed display name was erroneous, the Vonage WhatsApp Team can help you with the appeals process. You are advised to provide relevant information to support your claim.
Once the relevant information is provided, the Vonage WhatsApp Team will open a Meta Direct Support Ticket and appeal the display name rejection for you. If Meta denies the new display name, you have the option to provide another new display name and the process outlined above will begin again.
