Question
Can I use my own audio files instead of using the Talk action?
Applies To
- Voice API
- Language
Answer
While the Voice API supports many different languages, if you wish to use Voice API for a language that Vonage does not currently support, you will need to use a third-party service to provide the audio. You can use a third-party service to provide the audio files for the text synthesis you require or may wish to stream the audio to the active members using a Connect action to a SIP endpoint or WebSocket.
If you want to use your own media files for text synthesis in your desired language, you will need to use the Stream action to play the audio into the conversation from an MP3 or WAV media file.
