*We can provide content registration service for retail customers. Contact your account manager if you are interested in this option.
If a customer with registered content has new content or wants to modify a registered content, they will also need to submit a new request for content registration.
Effective Nov. 1, 2025, all commercial SMS messages must clearly include the company, organization, brand, or campaign name in the message content. This requirement aims to enhance end-user identification of message senders and strengthen SMS risk management.
To comply with the telecom operators’ review process, customers who want to register their contents or customers who have existing registered contents are required to strictly follow the KYC (Know Your Customer) real-name registration protocol. All required documents for content registration and KYC can be found on our Global Sender ID portal.
Once this new policy goes into effect, Taiwanese telecom operators may perform random checks on their SMS traffic. If there are no KYC documents found for a customer’s traffic and it is flagged to Vonage, Vonage will block the traffic until the customer has submitted the required information to us and has been approved by the telecom operators. This is due to risk of penalties to Vonage in accordance with local telecom regulations.
Use-Case & Content Guidelines
| URL whitelisting |
If the content contains URL, the URL need to be submitted for whitelisting. It can be processed together with the content registration. Existing registered contents that contain URL will need to be re-registered when there is any change in the URL excluding the variable part. For example, if the URL was www.vonage.com/12345 but has changed to api.vonage.com/12345 or www.vnge.com/12345, then re-registration is required to whitelist the new URL. Shared URL shorteners (bit.ly, tinyurl) are not allowed. |
| Encoding | Extension character set |^€{}[~]\ in the GSM 7-bit default table would be changed to triangle signs △ as advised by telco. Alternatively, bracket symbols < > are supported. |
*To initiate the content registration process, please check Global Sender ID Portal or contact your account manager or support
