Use-Case & Content Guidelines

A2P traffic

All traffic must include brand, company name or identity of the source. Penalties might be imposed by the operators on top of the standard SMS charges.

Concatenated messages

Concatenated messages are supported to all network except DiGi (50216)

Domestic brand traffic There is a split of international and domestic traffic based on brand, company name or identity that you are going to include in your message. Contact your Account Manager for more details.
Operator filtering

Due to massive SMS Spam and Phishing complaints, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) have mandated all operators to filter message containing:

  • Links directing users to click on specific URLs (e.g., https://touchngologin.cc/ or
    https://cimbk.info).
  • Requests for personal information, including names, identification numbers, bank account numbers, and others.
  • Containing mobile or fixed-line numbers for contact purposes.
Content Modifications

Mobile operators require content header "RM0.00" for messages sent to Malaysia. This is done to inform end users that they were not charged to receive these messages. If you have not added this to your message body, the operator may add "RM0.00 " "RM0.0 " or "RM0 " (with a space after the last 0) and this may compromise the maximum length of your SMS.

As per MCMC's recommendation, all SMS content must begin with "RM0 [brand] [message]"

Marketing Traffic Before sending any marketing traffic, opt-in consent is required from handset users.
