Jordan SMS Features and Restrictions
Overview
Vonage uses our new Adaptive Routing throughout Jordan to ensure messages are delivered. We use a local connection as our main supplier and several others as backup ones in order to minimize downtime.
Sender ID
For Zain (41601), numeric Sender IDs will be changed to allow delivery. Traffic also needs to be pre-registered to ensure the best quality of delivery. Generic Sender IDs may be filtered and not delivered.
For other networks, the Sender ID could be changed to allow the delivery. If you want to keep the Sender ID, you have to pre-register your Sender ID.
Content
There are no additional content restrictions beyond those in our Acceptable Use Policy.
A2P
Carriers in Jordan, have implemented spam filters to prevent A2P traffic reaching their network. Spam filters can return in some cases fake delivery receipts and don’t discriminate between spam and legitimate traffic. What makes delivery highly unlikely to that market is the sophisticated spam filter of Zain, which has over 70% market share.
Marketing
Due to operator restrictions in Jordan, marketing traffic is not permitted and is likely to be blocked.
Adult Content
As with all of the Middle East, you may not send any adult content.
Other Features or Restrictions
Delivery Receipts
Delivery receipts are not always reliable due to the spam filters in place.
