Step-by-Step Guide
View Country Specific Requirements
Every country supporting Sender ID registration has very different requirements dictated by the individual network operators. Before submitting a new Sender ID request, you may want to review the requirements. You can do this by following the below steps:
Step 1: Navigate to the Portal
Log into the Customer Dashboard and under the Numbers tab, select Global Sender ID. Click on Manage Global Sender ID to access the Global Sender ID Dashboard.
Step 2: View Country and Use Case Requirements
Click on Country Look up on the left hand bar. Select the desired country and use case and click Submit to display the requirements.
Tips for understanding this page:
- By selecting just a country, without a brand type or traffic type, you will see the requirements for all use cases. Select a specific brand type and/or traffic type to narrow down your search.
- Use Cases Supported by Selected Country: If a brand type or traffic type is not listed, then Sender ID registrations are not supported for that use case in the selected country.
- Required Information for Selected Country & Use Case: These are all the different pieces of information you will need to share with Vonage in order to submit your SID request. These all relate to the brand that is registering the Sender ID.
- Some requirements are industry specific, for example for ‘Medical companies only’, in which case they’ll be optional
- Required Documents - To be provided by Sender ID’s Brand: These are all documents that you will need to share with Vonage in order to submit your request. These all relate to the brand that is registering the Sender ID.
- Some documents are templates that you need to populate; you can download the template by clicking the hyperlink
- Others are documents owned by you that you must share directly
Submit a New Sender ID Request
Step 1: Navigate to the Form
Log into the Customer Dashboard and under the Numbers tab, select Global Sender ID. Click on Manage Global Sender ID to access the Global Sender ID Dashboard.
Step 2: Start a New Application Request
Click on Applications on the left hand bar. This page shows you all the Sender ID applications your user has submitted. To submit a new application, click on New Request.
Step 3: Complete Application
Follow the 4 screens to complete the Application
Screen 1: Country & Account information
- Populate all the mandatory fields as requested.
- The email address provided will receive confirmation and status related emails.
- Select the country, brand and traffic type for which you are submitting the request.
- Note: you can only submit one country at a time as every country has very different requirements. If you need to submit multiple countries, complete the submission for the first country and then return to the same place and submit another request
- If a country, brand type or traffic type is not listed, then Sender ID registrations are not supported for that use case
- When selecting the API key you would like the Sender ID registered to, we recommend doing so on your Main API key only. However, you can provide a dedicated sub key if required.
Screen 2: Sender ID Information
- Populate all the mandatory fields as requested.
- All fields are dynamic fields, specific to the country and use case that you have selected.
- Upload all the mandatory documents as requested; templated documents can be downloaded by clicking on the hyperlink.
Screen 3: Summary
- Review all the information you’ve provided.
- Go Back to make any changes.
- Otherwise, click Submit.
Screen 4: Confirmation
- Once submitted, an email will be sent to the address provided in the form, with a reference number, confirming the application has been received.
- After closing the form you will be taken back to the Applications screen, where you will see the application you just submitted.
Step 4: Vonage Processes the Request
Vonage will now handle the request; the requirements and documentation you shared in your application will be validated by the Vonage team, and then securely submitted to the network operators for review.
You can follow the status of the request on the Applications screen.
Step 5a: Successful Sender ID Registrations
If your Sender ID is successfully completed, you will receive an email notification explaining so. In order to start using your Sender ID, you will need to update your SMS API configuration, as detailed here.
Step 5b: Rejected Sender ID Registrations
If your Sender ID is rejected, you will receive an email notification explaining so. This may be because your request lacked necessary information, and Vonage or the network operator has rejected the request. You can resubmit another request by following the same steps above, or contact your Account Manager or our Support Team
