How to configure IP Allowlisting (Account Takeover Protection) in Fraud Defender

Vonage API Support

Objective

This article explains how to set up IP Allowlisting (Account Takeover Protection) in Vonage Fraud Defender to control which IP addresses can access your Vonage APIs.

Applies To

  • Fraud Defender
  • Account Takeover Protection
  • IP Allowlisting
  • SIP Trunking

Procedure

IP Allowlisting lets you define which IP addresses are permitted to call your Vonage APIs. Any request from an IP address not on your allowlist is automatically blocked — keeping your account protected even if your credentials are ever compromised.

IP Allowlisting is a free feature available to all Fraud Defender customers. No additional subscription or upgrade is required.

Note: IP Allowlisting covers SIP Trunking; however, SIP Trunking exhibits special behavior. For details, refer to the Fraud Defender - Account Takeover Protection page in your Vonage Dashboard.
