Effective February 17, 2026, all political senders, including all Political 527 tax-exempt organizations, both new and existing, must have a valid and registered Campaign Verification (CV) Authorization token to continue sending messages in the U.S. & Canada. Please visit Campaign Verify at https://www.campaignverify.org/ to get started.

To avoid any disruption in your service, please generate and share your Campaign Verification Authorization token with Vonage no later than February 12, 2026.

⚠️ If the token is not received by this date, your political messaging traffic will be blocked for the 2026 election cycle.  

Note - This requirement only applies to Political SMS/MMS traffic in the U.S. and Canada and does not apply to voice traffic.

What is a Campaign Verification Authorization Token?

A Campaign Verification Authorization token (CV token) is a secure digital credential used by messaging platforms to confirm that a campaign is a legitimate and approved political entity.

It links an approved political campaign to specific messaging channels (Toll-Free, 10DLC, or Short Code), ensuring compliance with carrier requirements and preventing unauthorized or unverified political messaging.

A CV token lasts for 2 years, and it is recommended to renew the token prior to expiration.

Why is this required now?

Starting February 17, 2026, carriers require all political messaging traffic—including existing TFN traffic—to be verified using a CV token.
The token serves as proof that your campaign has been authenticated through Campaign Verify, an industry-recognized authority for political messaging verification.

Step-by-Step: How to Obtain Your Campaign Verification Authorization Token

Please follow the Campaign Verify process below:

STEP 1
If you are new to Campaign Verify, complete the initial webform to get started.

STEP 2
Log in to the portal and click “+ New Verification Request.”
Select either a State/Local or Federal submission form.

STEP 3
Complete the form with accurate and current information.
Ensure the details match your published filing with the FEC or State/Local/Tribal election authority.

STEP 4
After payment, your request is submitted for manual review.
Once approved, Campaign Verify will send a secure six-digit PIN to the email address, phone number, or postal address listed on your official filing.

⚠️ Campaign Verify can only send the PIN to contact details listed on a current, published filing.

STEP 5
Log back in at https://app.campaignverify.org/
Open your submission and enter the PIN.

STEP 6
Click “Select a Channel”, choose the applicable channel, and click “Create an Authorization Token.”
Select token type: Toll-Free

STEP 7
Copy the generated Authorization Token(s) and provide them to your Account Managers.

How long does verification take?

  • Campaign verification: Minutes to 2 business days after submission
  • PIN delivery:
    • Email or SMS: Immediate
    • Phone call: Immediate or scheduled
    • U.S. postal mail: 5–10 business days

Delays may occur if your campaign’s filing is not readily available or if your contact details are outdated.
