Objective

Send WhatsApp broadcast messages with personalized media content for each recipient.

Applies To

  • Jumper
  • Live Chat
  • WhatsApp
  • Broadcast

Users can now send WhatsApp broadcast messages with personalised media content, featuring unique images, files, or videos for each recipient. This customisation is achieved by utilizing a message variable like <custom_field_fieldname> in the URL section available for WhatsApp templates that include a header image, file, or video. The field name corresponds to either the column title in the CSV file while sending broadcast using CSV or a custom field name already available in the Social CRM while sending broadcast using filters or segments. This feature empowers users to craft highly individualised and dynamic broadcasts.

Procedure

Sending broadcast messages with personalised media content via CSV

  1. First, you need to create a WhatsApp template by selecting one of the media options from an image, video or file option in the header section & a message for your customer.
In the example below, the image option is selected in the header section, the sample image is uploaded & template is saved.

  3. Create a new broadcast & select the template that was created (e.g. new_product).
Add the message variable <custom_field_fieldname> under the paste URL to upload an image section available for WhatsApp templates that can include any of the one media content i.e. image, file, or video. The “fieldname” in the message variable <custom_field_fieldname> corresponds to the column title in the CSV file while sending a broadcast using a CSV.

  6. Now create a WhatsApp template by selecting one of the media options from an image, video or file option in the header section & a message for your customer,
In the example below, the image option is selected in the header section, the sample image is uploaded & template is saved as new_product.

  7. Go to Automations >> Broadcast to create a new broadcast & select the template that was created. (e.g. new_product).
Add the message variable <custom_field_fieldname> under the paste URL to upload an image section available for WhatsApp templates that can include any of the one media content i.e. image, file, or video.
The “fieldname” in the message variable <custom_field_fieldname> corresponds to the custom data field name which will be added while sending a broadcast.
In the below example, url is the custom data field name, so our message variable will be set here as <custom_field_url>.

  8. Now under settings, add your targeting conditions using filters/segments.
Note: Before sending the WhatsApp template broadcast make sure your targetted audience has the custom field name the same as the one set under the message variable <custom_field_fieldname>, i.e. for <custom_field_url>, the custom data for the targetted customers must have field name & value as “url:www.linktoyourmediacontent.com”. You can use relatable filters under targeting conditions for the broadcast, so the customer who has the custom data will be filtered & receive the WhatsApp broadcast.
