Overview
New Spanish regulations have been announced for consumer protection measures to combat identity theft scams through fraudulent SMS.
- All alphanumeric Sender IDs (the business name shown at the top of an SMS/MMS/RCS message) used to send messages to Spanish mobile numbers must be pre-registered in the official Alias Registry managed by CNMC.
- If your Sender ID is not registered by 15th September 2026, your messages will be blocked by Spanish mobile operators and will not be delivered to recipients.

Sender ID Guidelines
| Alphanumeric Sender ID | Alphanumeric Sender IDs are supported. From 2026 a new registration process will be required. |
| Numeric Sender ID |
International Numeric Sender IDs are supported, other numeric sender IDs will need to purchase our LVNs in order to ensure delivery. LVNs can be offered by Vonage's 2-way service. |
| Generic Sender ID | Generic sender IDs such as INFO, SMS, NOTICE etc are prohibited. |
Use-Case & Content Guidelines
| Marketing Traffic | Before sending any marketing traffic, opt-in consent is required from handset users. |

P2P traffic is prohibited.
