Overview

New Italian regulations have been announced as of 15th of November 2023 pertaining to the use of Alpha SIDs by international brands. In compliance with the regulator AGCOM the following code of compliance (here) states Alpha SIDs may not be used by international customers delivering to Italy. Customers must use a domestic LVN as their SID, this can be purchased through your Vonage dashboard. Domestic brands are still permitted to use Alphanumeric SID once this is registered via the regulator, please contact your account manager for details.

Sender ID Guidelines

Alphanumeric Sender ID

Alpha sender IDs are fully supported for now *
Numeric Sender ID

Numeric sender IDs are not supported unless offered by Vonage's 2-way service. *
Generic Sender ID Generic sender IDs such as INFO, SMS, NOTICE etc are prohibited. Please use a representative brand or business name to ensure delivery.

Use-Case & Content Guidelines

Marketing Traffic

Vonage offers dedicated marketing bulk routes, if your traffic is pure marketing traffic, please contact the support team to be routed through these routes.

Before sending any marketing traffic, opt-in consent is required from handset users.

 

Additional Information

The above regulations from the Italian regulator are postponed until further notice, for now, Alpha senders are dynamically supported and LVNs can be used as well.

P2P traffic is prohibited.

No political, religious, unsolicited promotion, or gambling content.

There are no additional content restrictions beyond those in our Acceptable Use Policy.
