Romania SMS Features and Restrictions
Sender ID
Cosmote: Can deliver alpha and numeric Sender IDs.
Orange: Any numeric senders as well as Alpha/Alphanumeric SIDs will be modified to short code to ensure delivery.
Vodafone: Alpha sender IDs must be registered to ensure delivery. Any unregistered alpha sender IDs might be modified to short code to ensure delivery. All registered sender IDs need to be case-sensitive too, so if variations of the same sender ID are needed, then they will all need to be registered. Register your brand sender IDs by contacting your account manager or submitting a support request. Short codes, as well as long numbers, will also be blocked by the operator.
Generic SIDs are subject to filtering. Customers must ensure the SID selected is representative of their Brand name.
2-Way SMS:
Please note that 2-way SMS is not supported over the SC or the alphanumeric senders, replying to the messages coming from the Short code number might cost you additional premium fees.

Spam Filters
Anti-spam measures in local direct connections to Romania networks do not permit sending duplicate SMS (same source AND destination AND content) within five minutes. This does not apply to parts of the same concatenated SMS.

Local carriers don’t allow person-to-person traffic. Only pure A2P traffic is allowed, for example: marketing campaigns, promotions, banking and financial traffic, authentication traffic, different service alerts. Orange requires that customers insert identification information in the body of the message, such as a valid email address, website, or contact phone number.
