What is changing?

The current TokBox Developer Documentation Page will be moving to the Vonage Developer Documentation Page. The contents will remain the same.

When will the change happen?

In Q3 2026, the Vonage site will begin hosting the OpenTok documentation, and the banner on the legacy Tokbox site will provide a direct path to the new Vonage location.

Will the TokBox Dev Center links work after the change? 

In Q3 2026, the TokBox Dev Center will remain available. However, no new changes or updates will be added. All new content will be published exclusively on the Vonage Developer Documentation Page.

Will the TokBox Dev Center be archived after the change? 

The TokBox Developer Documentation Page will be archived in Q4 2026. However, the old links will continue to work and will be redirected to their corresponding Vonage Developer Documentation Page links. 

How can I tell which documentation I need to use (TokBox or Vonage Video Unified)? 

If you are using the TokBox/OpenTok environment, use the TokBox Developer Documentation Page. If you are using the Vonage Unified Environment, use the Vonage Developer Documentation Page.  

How can I tell whether I’m using the TokBox/OpenTok Video API environment or the Vonage Unified Video API environment?

Depending on your Video API account, you may either be using the TokBox/OpenTok environment or the Vonage Unified Environment. Refer to this guide on how to check which Video API environment you are using. 

Will I be able to continue using the TokBox/OpenTok Video API environment?

The TokBox/OpenTok platform is not being deprecated. Currently, there is no plan to sunset the service for our existing customers. 

Why do I get duplicate search results for the Video API related documentation?

The Vonage Developer Documentation Page search tool will return results for both the TokBox/OpenTok environment and the Vonage Unified Environment. When using the search tool, include the product name in the search to refine results. For example, search OpenTok Video Archiving for specific documentation on the TokBox/OpenTok environment. 

How can I get help if I cannot find the updated page of the old TokBox Dev Center links?
