Objective
Handling inbound SMS in a multiple SMPP server environment.
Applies To
- SMPP
- Inbound SMS
Procedure
If you are using multiple SMPP hosts, you can configure your Vonage API binds so that you only receive inbound SMS (MO) to a specific host. You would need to specify a unique system-type 'per host' in the receiver or transceiver bind request when establishing an SMPP connection to the Vonage SMPP server. You would then specify the desired system-type for your virtual numbers under Numbers in your Vonage API account dashboard. Subsequently, the inbound message would be delivered to any receiver or transceiver bind that specified the same system-type parameter.
