Question
How long does Vonage retry inbound SMS/DLRs via SMPP connection?
Applies To
- SMPP
- DLR
- SMS
Answer
There are up to 130 attempts to deliver inbound SMS/DLR, each with at least 62 seconds delay. The retry will be triggered only when the failure to deliver is temporary, meaning networking issues or receiving these specific status codes and when there's a suitable bind (receiver or transceiver).
There's also an expiration period of 24h, when DLRs are discarded if not delivered or permanently failed until then.
