Why are the Message Types Channel Specific?

Jumper offers the ability to create chatbots across various Sales Channels such as Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram, etc.
Each of these platforms have some restrictions over some specific message types.
Example, some message types like List message, Contact, Location, File are only supported on WhatsApp channel, and are not supported on Facebook Messenger. Similarly, a carousel message type is not supported by WhatsApp.
And hence, while creating a bot the first step is to select the channel for which you want to create your bot. Based on your selected channels we provide you with the message type options which are being supported across the selected channels.

Below is the list of supported Message types in each Channel :

Facebook Messenger:

• Text (640 Characters limit)
• Quick replies - (Max up to 10 buttons)
• Button message(Max up to 3 buttons)
• Carousel (Max up to 10 cards & 3 buttons each)
• Image (No limit)
• Video (single video)
